Rebekah Fry is an enthusiastic teacher whose main goal is to share the joy of music with everyone around her. Her students are challenged to excel in what they do while having fun in the process!

She completed her Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance and Minor in Entrepreneurship in 2016 at Miami University of Ohio, studying with Dr. Siok Lian Tan. While there, she did an independent study on injury-preventive technique and was a finalist in the Undergraduate Solo Competition and Concerto competition. She completed her Masters of Music in Piano Pedagogy in 2018 at the University of South Carolina, where she studied with Dr. Charles Fugo and Dr. Scott Price and taught private and group piano lessons at the beginner child, beginner adult and collegiate levels. While there, she studied various pedagogical styles including: teaching various levels and age groups, theory pedagogy, special needs pedagogy, etc. 

An experienced teacher, Rebekah is a certified Suzuki Piano Book One instructor and is active in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC). With over 8 years of teaching experience, she has previously taught private and group piano lessons at West Chester Academy in West Chester, Ohio, the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area,  at the University of South Carolina and at Freeway Music in Columbia, South Carolina.

Rebekah has experience performing solo, accompaniment and ensemble works in a variety of musical genres and spaces including churches, university recital halls, community centers and nursing homes. and on piano, keyboard, organ and harpsichord. She believes that sharing the love of music with the community is important for her and her students.

Her goals for her students are to learn to love music and to love learning. Listening and experiencing a variety of different music is a good place to start. Individualizing the curriculum used, she teaches a variety of genres and skills (classical, jazz, by ear, improvisation, arranging, composition, theory, technique, chord/pop sheet reading, and more!), helping her students to take ownership of their practice time and encouraging them to become independent learners. 

Rebekah helps her students grow as excellent, passionate musicians who are excited to share the gift of music with those around them!
